Aspects of the sensorial quality and nutraceuticals of Plinia cauliflora fruits Agronomy
Wagner Júnior, Américo; Paladini, Marcos Villy; Danner, Moeses Andrigo; Moura, Gisely Correa de; Guollo, Karina; Nunes, Isadora Bischoff.
Nationally known in Brazil, the jabuticabeira or jabuticaba tree produces fruits of wide commercial acceptance. However, little use of jabuticaba in commercial orchards and large genetic erosion of jabuticaba caused by human activities in its habitats have been historically observed. Thus, the goal of this study was to characterize fruits of the jabuticaba tree (Plinia cauliflora) in a forest fragment maintained in southwestern Paraná State in an attempt to identify trees with superior fruits for future selection as cultivars or male genitors. To this end, 15 variables linked to sensory and biochemical characteristics of harvested fruits were analysed during two years of production. Twenty percent of the genotypes that showed the highest frequency of...

Effect of the different fertilizer rates on the growth of seedling of Aspidosperma Parvifolium A. DC. Sci. Agrar.Paran. / SAP
Menegatti, Renata Diane; Guollo, Karina; Navroski, Márcio Carlos; Vargas, Oieler Felipe.
The objective of this study was to evaluate the use of different fertilizer doses of controlled release in the production of seedlings Aspidosperma parvifolium A. DC. The experiment was carried out in a nursery at the University of the State of Santa Catarina, in the city of Lages. The seedlings originated from seeds, sown in plastic bags of 500 cm3 and filled with commercial substrate Tecnomax®. The design was completely randomized with four treatments, consisting of four increasing doses (0, 2.5, 5 and 7.5 g L-1) Osmocote® fertilizer. For each treatment were used five replications with four plants each. At 150 days after emergence were evaluated the diameter of the neck, total seedling height, number of leaves per seedling and, leaf area. It was found...

ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVITY TEST APPLIED TO SEEDS OF FOREST SPECIES Sci. Agrar.Paran. / SAP
Guollo, Karina; Possenti, Jean Carlo; Del Quiqui, Erci Marcos; Felippi, Marciele; Debastiani, Aline Bernarda.
The evaluation of electrical conductivity is one of the fastest tests to evaluate quality and vigour of the seed, however, studies with forest species are scarce. Thus, the aim was to verify the possibility to evaluate the physiological quality of forest seed species by the individual and massal electrical conductivity test in different imbibition periods. The experimental material consisted of seeds of the Gallesia integrifolia, Handroanthus chrysotrichus, Lonchocarpus campestris and Pterogyne nitens. For the individual method, 80 repetitions of one seed were used, which were placed in individual containers containing 50 ml of distilled water. The following imbibition periods were evaluated: 2, 4, 6, 8, 24 and 48 hours. The tests were placed in a...

Floral phase and sucrose/boric acid concentrations on in vitro germination of Inga edulis (Mart.), pollen grain Sci. Agrar.Paran. / SAP
Santos, Ana Claudia Schllemer dos; Castro, Juliana Dias de; Bressan, Daiane; Júnior, Américo Wagner; Guollo, Karina.
The aim of this work was to determine the ideal stage of pollen collection and the best concentrations of sucrose and boric acid in the culture medium for the in vitro germination of inga fruit tree pollen. For this, the work was carried out in two stages, one using concentrations of sucrose in the culture medium (0, 5, 10, 20 and 30%) - experiment 1. Another one using the best sucrose concentration, with concentrations (0, 100, 200 and 300 mg L-1) - experiment 2. In the two experiments, two flowering phases were use: pre-anthesis and post-anthesis. For both experiments, the culture medium contained 1% agar to solidify the medium and all treatments remained in BOD for 24 h at a temperature controlled at 25°C. For the experiment 1 with sucrose, DIC was use...

Floral, reproductive and pollinators biology of Myrcianthes pungens (Berg) Legrand, neglected species Biological Sciences
Guollo, Karina; Wagner Junior, Américo; Kosera Neto, Carlos; Dallago, Adriana; Svidzinski, Rayana Stival; Radaelli, Juliana Cristina.
Studies related to floral biology are essential for the understanding of the ecological relations between different species, and the beginning of breeding programs. In this way, the aim of the study was to elucidate aspects of floral and reproductive biology and floral visitors of this species. Information about floral morphology and morphometry, anthesis, nectaries and pollinator attractive structures, characterization of floral visitors, receptivity of androcytic stigma and maturation, in vitro pollen storage and germination, and characterization of the reproductive system were obtained. The guabiju tree has hermaphrodite flowers, and the floral opening occurs mainly during the night, but also in the morning. Anthers are the main attractive structure to...

Germination of guatambu seeds subjected to two light regimes PFB - Pesquisa Florestal Brasileira
Guollo, Karina; Possenti, Jean Carlo; Felippi, Marciele.
Guatambu (Aspidosperma parvifolium A. DC.) is a species that faces extinction in different regions of Brazil. The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of photoperiod on germination of guatambu seeds at 25°C. The statistical procedure used was factorial design with two factors. Factor A was seed lots (Mother tree A, B, and C) and factor B was photoperiod (dark and 12 h of photoperiod). Guatambu seeds are not affected by photoperiod condition during the germination process.
